Rising Sixth-Graders STEM Camp at South Texas Preparatory Academy
1st Session : July 17th – July 20th, 2017
2nd Session:  July 24th – July 27th, 2017
8:30 am-3:30 pm


Camp Information:

This 4-day camp, promoting STEM, is organized to provide activities, experiments and projects for rising 6th-grade Rio Grande Valley students. The camp will focus on increasing students’ STEM skills while introducing them to different fields of STEM and promoting STEM as a potential career path. Students will attend classes and field trips that include problem solving, research and communication skills incorporated within subjects including biology, physics, engineering and technology.

The 4-day camp will be held at South Texas Preparatory Academy, located at 724 S. Sugar Road in Edinburg, Texas.  Transportation will be available.

Fee         $50.00 

Who Should Apply?

  • Rising Rio Grande Valley 6th-grade students
  • Students interested in a future Science career or students interested in learning more about Science

Application Process:

  • Parent/Guardian and student complete the attached student application form.
  • Student writes a one page (250 word max) essay.
  • Return completed application via fax (956-381-1177), via e-mail (ana.castro@stisd.net), via mail at 724 S. Sugar Rd., Edinburg, TX 78539 or at the STPA campus at the same address.  Fee is due with the camp application.
